The college of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University in cooperation with the women's program center - Jerash camp held a free medical day as a service to the local community out of its belief that we all have a social responsibility towards our community. This day was held on January 8th 2022.
Around 600 patients visited for benefitting from the various established field clinics such as the Pediatric clinic (Dr. Sameer Al- Atoom), ENTclinic (Dr. Abdullah Khatatbah), Dermatology clinic (Dr. Khaled Setan), OB/GYN clinic (Dr. Bayan Salem) and general/internal clinic (Dr. Khaled Ananbeh). A team from the college of Pharmacy dispensed free medicine for the patients that were generously provided by a group of local pharmaceutical companies. We’re grateful for the support of the participating pharmaceutical companies including Dar Al-Dawa, Hikma company, TQ Pharma, United company, JOSWE medical, pharma international and Al-Noor Drug store as well as the Pharmacists' Syndicate subcommittee - Irbid.
The organizers of this event and further representatives from the college of Pharmacy have also attended this event including the Dean Dr. Mervat AlSous, the vice-dean Dr. Alaa al Jabali, the heads of the departments Dr. Bilal Al-Jaidi, Dr. Meriem Rezigue and Dr. Ghaith Taani, as well as Dr. Mohammad Obeid, Dr. Rawan Al-Sharideh, Ph. Salam Shannag, Ph. Reem Abu-Hashhash, Ph. Zeina Abu-Rashed and Ph. Afaf Al-Khasawneh accompanied by a group of pharmacy students. The medical day was successful and the audience have requested more of these voluntary days be held due to their great importance.
On the occasion of promoting the dean of the college of Pharmacy dr. Mervat Al-sous to the rank of professor, the college of Pharmacy congratulates prof. Dr. Mervet AlSous for being the first academic member of the college of Pharmacy obtaining this academic degree. Wishing her more progress and success.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at YU has attended a workshop entitled PIANO: Pharmaceutical Initiative for the Medicinal Plants of the Middle East in Research and teaching on November 25th, 2021.
The workshop included a presentation of the latest scientific research carried out by researchers from the German University of Hamburg, the University of Aleppo, and the University of Lebanon, in cooperation with Yarmouk University and the University of Jordan. Dr. Deniz Tawalbeh has represented YU during the scientific research presentations. during the conclusion events, Dr. Mervat Al-Sous, the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy has shown a presentation of the Faculty's mission, visions and goals.
The training committee of the college of Pharmacy held a practical clinical skill exam for the students of the field training course on Monday 3rd of January 2022.
The college of Pharmacy congratulates Dr. Alaa Aljabali for being classified within the list prepared by the world scientists and university rankings and achieving the first place at the level of Yarmouk University, the second place at the level Jordan in nanoscience and nanotechnology and the 5th place at the level of Yarmouk University according to the H-index. Wishing him more progress and success.
On Tuesday 23/11/2021, the Field Training Committee represented by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mervat Al-Sous, held a meeting with a number of representatives of pharmacies in Amman, Jerash, Ajloun, Zarqa, Rusaifa, and Mafraq, aiming to building bridges to communication with those in charge of local community pharmacies in various governorates.
The meeting discussed various topics including the training protocols, objectives, and forms to be filled out for the whole experience to be clear for all involving parts. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mervat Al-Sous thanked all the pharmacists who train pharmacy students at Yarmouk University. The Dean also thanked the efforts of Dr. Mayada Al-Shaabani, Secretary of the Pharmacy Owners Division in the Syndicate, and also thanked the heads of The Pharmacists Syndicate Branches of Jerash, Ajloun, Mafraq, Rusaifa and Zarqa, represented by Dr. Ayman Hamed, Dr. Abdul Rahman Tanbouz, Dr. Yazid Al-Daqs, Dr. Youssef Abu Malluh, Dr. Hussein Khazali, Dr. Nasser Abbas, Dr. Ashraf Mahasneh, Dr. Nasser Abbas, Dr. Siham Al-Atoum, Dr. Ashraf Hemtini, Dr. Nadia Diab, Dr. Haitham Abu Zeid.
