As one of Jordan’s distinguished institutions of higher learning, Yarmouk University has consistently upheld its mission to advance knowledge and serve society. The Faculty of Pharmacy carries this legacy forward by combining a strong academic tradition with a progressive vision for the future. We are committed to shaping the next generation of pharmacists competent, innovative, and socially responsible professionals who will contribute meaningfully to healthcare systems locally, regionally, and globally.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University was originally founded in 1979, becoming the first faculty of pharmacy in Jordan. In 1986, it was integrated into the Jordan University of Science and Technology, before Yarmouk University proudly reopened the Faculty in 2013 to meet the nation’s growing demand for advanced pharmaceutical education. In 2019, the Princess Iman Bint Abdullah II Building was inaugurated to house both the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy on the southern campus. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern educational and research laboratories, providing our students and staff with an inspiring environment for learning, discovery, and innovation.
Today, the Faculty offers both a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical development technology and practice. These programs are designed to integrate rigorous academic knowledge with practical training, enabling our graduates to excel in healthcare, research, and the pharmaceutical industry. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), a recognition that affirms the global competitiveness of our programs and the excellence of our graduates.
Our academic strength lies in the dedication of more than 34 distinguished faculty members, whose expertise spans diverse fields of pharmaceutical sciences and clinical practice. Beyond their teaching, they are actively engaged in research that addresses pressing national and global challenges, including drug development, pharmacoeconomics, antimicrobial resistance, digital health, and pioneering applications of nanotechnology in medicine. Through this research, the Faculty contributes to scientific progress while supporting Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision and advancing healthcare outcomes.
Looking ahead, the Faculty of Pharmacy is pursuing strategic priorities that reflect both national aspirations and global trends. These include strengthening international collaborations, integrating digital transformation and artificial intelligence into pharmaceutical education, expanding community engagement through public health initiatives, and adopting sustainable practices across our operations. Together, these efforts ensure that our students and researchers are not only prepared for the present but also equipped to lead the future of pharmacy.
