I am delighted to welcome you to the Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University. Our passion is preparing graduates and pharmaceutical scientists for a career where they will make a difference across the spectrum of healthcare focused on medications and equipping the Kingdom with the most professional pharmacists to meet the demands of the labor market.
The faculty of pharmacy has been firstly founded in 2013 within the Faculty of Economics and Science and has been established as an independent faculty at Princess Iman Building in 2019. With the foundational blocks firmly in place, we have moved from the development phase to an independent established school. Since then, the school has grown tremendously, recruiting distinguished faculty, staff, and students; developing a program to offer a top-quality education with an emphasis on interprofessional education and teamwork under the aspirations of His Majesty King Abdullah II, and continues to move steadily towards excellence with its outstanding and qualified graduates. We aim at preparing our graduates to play an active role in the Jordanian pharmaceutical field all over the Kingdom in both the private and the public sectors. We continue to refine our educational program and study plans, establish graduate program, expand our research, and build up fruitful national and international partnerships. With that comes, more challenges and opportunities to reach even new heights in our educational and research programs.
The school has grown to over 35 faculty/staff, has a robust faculty and advisory councils, and has developed strong relationships throughout the kingdom with hospitals, pharmaceutical and industrial companies, community pharmacies and healthcare communities. Our team is very proud of the milestones we have reached so far, especially the graduation of our six classes of students. At the beginning of the academic year of 2023/2024, and with the distinguished efforts of its academic and administrative staff, the Faculty received the American accreditation for pharmacy program; the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy education (ACPE) accreditation. In addition to raising the faculty/University ranking and reputation, the ACPE assures a global standard quality of the pharmacy program and study plans, and ensures the continuing development of pharmacists to maintain and enhance their competencies, knowledge and skills to meet the demands and needs of the labor markets.
To ensure success, the faculty has been working diligently on strengthening the educational competencies of its faculty members through offering them grants to study at the world's best universities in USA, UK, and Canada. Additionally, the Faculty endeavors to attract new competencies, expand its potential and constantly expand its educational resources. Furthermore, the Faculty continues to improve the infrastructure by establishing interactive smart lecture halls and new educational laboratories to accommodate the increasing number of students who choose Yarmouk University as a place to receive an education in Pharmacy. At our faculty, we focus on students’ engagement and participation in academic, social, and curricular and extracurricular activities. With all that, it represents excellence and uniqueness at the academic level.
At the Faculty of pharmacy, we place a great emphasis on research and foster leading scientific researchers capable of performing cutting-edge research. Our researchers have obtained several local, regional, and international scientific grants and to carry out transdisciplinary research as teams at three core departments. The Faculty works to support pioneering ideas that serve the scientific research and academic programs, and expand the number of research laboratories and resources to move the profession and scientific research forward.
