Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Shorman of the Faculty of Sharia at Yarmouk University hosted a religious symposium in the Faculty of Pharmacy under the auspices of Prof. Mervat Al-Sous. “Ramadan: a time for worship or study?”

In this talk, variety of topics relevant to pharmacy students were discussed as they look for a healthy balance between their academic pursuits and their spiritual obligations.

We appreciate the participation of our distinguished professors, and the enthusiasm of our wonderful students for these kinds of seminars.

Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Mervat Al-Sous, and the supervision of Dr. Osama Abu Al-Rub, the College hosted Dr. Rania Jabr, Secretary of the Jordanian Society for the Encouragement of Organ Donation, where she delivered a lecture titled "The Culture of Organ Donation" in which she clarified the statistics of organ donation cases in Jordan as well as the legislation and laws pertaining to that.

Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince, inaugurated the activities of the 10th International Conference of Royal Medical Services, at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center. Where a delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy - Yarmouk University, headed by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mervat Al-Sous, and a number of faculty members participated in the activities of the conference, which was held from 7-10 March. Also, Dr. Rasha Arabiyat and Dr. Alaa Yehia presented two scientific papers.

The faculty of Pharmacy has held an interactive workshop under the title Entrepreneurship in Pharmacy, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mervat Al-Sous, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, on Thursday, 9-3-2023. In which the lecturer, Dr. Moath Al-Tahan, focused on the importance of entrepreneurship for pharmacists, how to create creative and innovative ideas in the pharmaceutical field, and how to develop them into a successful business.

In conjunction with Dr. Muhammad Obeid Al-Aysra, the Faculty of Pharmacy participated in the medical day conducted at Zainab Al-Rasoul Primary School for Girls / Bani Obeid District on 05-03-2023. In which a number of students from the Faculty of Pharmacy participated on this day and provided  community service in the pharmaceutical area by offering participants a variety of pharmaceutical advice and guidance.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy - Yarmouk University, Prof. Mervat Al-Sous participated in the workshop about Qualifications Placement within the Jordan National Qualifications Framework (JNQF) which was held by the cooperation of  Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions and the German Agency for Development and International Cooperation (GIZ) on 16^th of march 2023. 

The workshop focused on the role of JNQF in monitoring the higher education institutions to achieve development and quality in teaching and learning, and to control their outcomes which should be compatible with the needs of the labor market.   

In addition, the workshop explained the concept related to the JNQF that is “hierarchical classification of all levels and types of qualifications and certificates associated with formal or informal education programs, as the national framework consists of 10 levels for each of the academic and professional tracks”. 

On the another hand, many universities showed their experiences in qualifications placement in pharmacy and nursing within the JNQF.

On the occasion of  Women's Day, and in commitment to its role in community service, the Faculty of Pharmacy delivered an awareness lecture about Fibromyalgia at the National Center for Women's Health in Tafilah. The lecture  was presented by Dr. Omar Gammoh from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Practice.
