In May 2024, an interactive workshop was held at the computer lab at the Faculty of Pharmacy and aimed at enhancing the research skills of pharmacy students, an interactive workshop on online resources of pharmacology information was conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy. The workshop, led by Dr. Alaa Yehya from the faculty of pharmacy at YU, focused on equipping students with the necessary tools to effectively search for and summarize pharmacological information related to medications. Pharmacology, being a core course for pharmacists, presents a vast array of information that students sometimes struggle to retain due to its complexity and depth. Recognizing this challenge, Dr. Yehya's workshop aimed to provide students with practical strategies for navigating and comprehending pharmacological data effectively. In addition, the session emphasized the importance of staying updated with the latest information in the field of pharmacology. To ensure the practical application of the workshop content, students were provided with hands-on training in the computer lab.

This hands-on approach allowed students to immediately apply the search techniques and information analysis methods discussed during the workshop, reinforcing their understanding and skills in utilizing online pharmacology resources.
An introductory workshop was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy for students regarding the modifications made to the 2021 curriculum and training instructions in the presence of the college dean and several faculty members.
The college dean, Dr. Fadia Mayyas, welcomed the students, wishing them success. She indicated that the primary goal of the current modifications approved in the curriculum and training is to facilitate the implementation of the plan, student registration, and improve the program quality. She also encouraged students to participate in the upcoming student elections, emphasizing that elections are an opportunity to practice democracy, represent students in meeting their aspirations, support the university in implementing activities, stressing the importance of active and honest participation for the success of the experience and achieving the interests of the college and the university.
In turn, the vice-dean and curriculum committee chair, Dr. Bilal Al-Jaidi, highlighted the key modifications made to the current curriculum and their objectives. Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Training, Dr. Mohammed Nasir, explained the latest updates on field training instructions.
Finally, Dr. Ali Hmaidat, assistant dean for student affairs, presented the student union instructions recently approved by Yarmouk University in preparation for the upcoming student elections, encouraging students to participate in the electoral process and choose their representatives in a democratic atmosphere filled with respect and acceptance of differing opinions.

The faculty organized a scientific workshop in cooperation with PharmaCure team entitled
(Search Using Electronic Resources)
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Ghina’a Abu Deiab from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Phytochemistry. Dr. Ghina’a provided a detailed explanation of different types of electronic sources and methods of search using these resources. A number of students and research assistants attended the workshop.
This workshop comes within a series of workshops launched by the team in cooperation with the Deanship of the faculty. The Dean, Prof. Fadia Mayas talked about the importance of this scientific lectures series in building and developing students’ scientific and research capabilities and the faculty support for such activities.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, held a scientific workshop entitled "Search Using Electronic Resources." Dr. Ghinaa Abu Dhiab provided a detailed explanation about the types of electronic sources and how to search using them.

The Faculty of Pharmacy has launched a series of medical scientific articles to enhance the students’ ability to scientifically write about controversial topics based on reliable scientific sources. An article was written by the student Mohammad Ziot under the supervision of Dr. Ghina’a Abu Deiab about healthy ways to cope with stress.

Professor Dr. Fadia Mayas, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, speaks during a broadcast on amen fm about the first Ramadan iftar for the Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University, which the Faculty organized this evening, and about the Faculty's activities aimed at serving the community.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Pioneers Academy for Consultations and Training, organized a workshop titled "How to Market Yourself in the Job Market." The workshop was presented by Mr. Ayman Al-Laham, the Public Relations Director at the company, and Mr. Ahmed Saad, in coordination with the academy's ambassadors, the student Hala Mas'ad and the student Sondus Rababaih.
During the workshop, the necessary methods and skills for marketing oneself in the job market were presented by focusing on strengths and developing weaknesses to present oneself to others and promote a particular idea or product. The workshop also explained how to create a personal website and generate digital content away from social media platforms. Additionally, the participants were introduced to the academy's free training programs and distributed QR codes for utilization. A wide discussion took place with the students on how to apply the necessary skills to market graduates in the job market.

In line with Yarmouk University’s vision and strategic plan to enhance the community partnerships and within the initiatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy to serve the local community. The faculty organized an awareness school campaign entitled “Your Awareness Protects You” at Edison Model School in Irbid. The campaign was supervised by Dr. Ghina’a Abu Deiab from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Phytochemistry, with the participation of a group of faculty members and fifth-year students.
The campaign included awareness-raising among high school students at Edison School about commonly used medications, that include painkillers, stimulants, and hypnotics. The campaign started with a lecture given by Dr. Ghina’a Abu Deiab on how to deal with common medications, their use, side effects, and risks. The school students were educated about the culture of searching for the optimal use of the medicines and the use of safe herbal alternatives. The doctor also explained how to read the internal medicinal leaflet and its sections to know about the appropriate doses according to different age groups and special medical conditions.
The campaign also included workshops and discussions by the faculty students about the groups of medications such as ibuprofen, caffeine, nicotine, and others. During which the school students learned about the reasons for using common medications, their harms, safe alternatives, and how to reduce them at this age stage through pictures and discussions.
The participation of Faculty of Pharmacy students in this campaign was a unique practical experience as community awareness about medicines.

The Student Activities, Affairs and Guidance Committee at the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Pharmacure student team, held a symposium entitled Field Pharmaceutical Training, delivered by Dr. Bilal Al-Jaidi, Deputy Dean of the College of Pharmacy, in which he reviewed the most important conditions that must be met for the student to begin field training in community pharmacies and how to register with the Jordan Pharmaceutical Association to calculate the training hours.
In his speech, Dr. Bilal also touched on the conditions for registering the field training course in the old study plan and how it differs from the two training courses in the new study plan. Dr. Bilal also reviewed the most important tips during the student’s training in the pharmacy, how to deal with medications, the most commonly followed methods for studying medications during training, and the most important obstacles facing the pharmacy student while in the cummunity pharmacy as a trainee. At the end, Dr. Bilal advised all students not to delay in starting field training in cumminty pharmacies because it supports what the student receives during his studies in college and enhances scientific ability and delivering suitable Pharmaceutical councelling for patient inside the pharmacy.
