A valuable scientific lecture was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy on Sunday, 12/10/2023, presented by Professor Dr. Wassef Al-Sakhina from the Faculty of Archeology and Anthropology under the title
(Spectroscopic Approach in Material Science: Scopic, Microscopicand)
The lecture, which was organized by Professor Dr. Muhammad Zaitoun from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, aimed to consolidate the importance of exchanging knowledge and integrating different sciences and specializations to spread the benefit of multidisciplinary among faculty members and college students.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University organized an interactive awareness lecture for students of the Faculty, presented by health educator Mayar Ibrahim from the King Hussein Cancer Center on Tuesday 11/28/2023 within the framework of the November campaign, which is launched every year in November by the King Hussein Cancer Center to raise community awareness about men’s cancers specially the most common (lung, colon, bladder, and prostate).
The lecture included an explanation of the risk factors contributing to the infection and the periodic examinations approved for diagnosis.
The lecture was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Fadia Mayas, and a number of faculty and administrative staff members, in addition to a group of college students.

took the stage, presenting valuable insights under the title "Cosmetic Products." This event was part of the Pharmacy Training Committee's strategy to enrich students' education and align with the dynamic demands of the job market.
The lecture explored diverse topics, including detailed information about skin composition, its various types, and methods to determine skin type without reliance on sophisticated devices. Practical approaches to treating common skin problems, such as acne and dryness, were also spotlighted.
Attendees were guided through daily skincare regimens, exploring the finest cosmetic products designed for moisturizing, exfoliation, and safeguarding the skin against sunlight and UV rays, while reducing visible signs of aging.
Among the distinguished attendees were Professor Fadia Mias, the Faculty Dean, accompanied by faculty and administrative members. The lecture received praise from students, who expressed gratitude for the rich information provided which can be used in both their daily life and in their professional journey.

The President of Yarmouk University, Dr. Islam Massad, and the representative of the Academia-Industry Platform Company, Dr. Khaled Khreisat, signed a memorandum of understanding with the aim of developing and documenting cooperation between the two parties for the purposes of benefiting from scientific research and its practical applications, in addition to benefiting from the expertise of university researchers in the fields of applied life sciences by linking them with the industrial sector. Interested in Jordan and the world.
The memorandum of understanding aims to bridge the gap between the industrial and academic sectors to benefit from the expertise and competencies of researchers to transfer technology and transform the results of scientific research into products or applications that can be used in the industrial sector to meet the needs of the market. In addition to creating training opportunities for students of the College of Pharmacy to train in factories.

As part of the College of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University’s efforts to emit the talents of its students in various fields, the Extracurricular Activities Committee, in collaboration with the PharmaCure student team have organized on 22/11/2023 an event entitled “How to Be a Good Presenter,” delivered by Dr. Bilal Al-Jaidi, where he touched on the characteristics of a good lecturer, how to prepare for presentation, and the most important qualities that must be delivered in an outstanding presentation. Dr. Bilal focused on the necessity of preparing for the presentation in all aspects, the most important of which is ensuring the scientific content, mental and psychological preparation, pre-training, rehearsals of voice and appearence, and employing body language to serve the content. In the end, Dr. Bilal reviewed the most useful features of a successful presentation in terms of form and content, the appropriate writing style, the most important mistakes that lecturers make, how to attract the attention of the attendees in different ways, methods of effective communication with the audience, and the interactive learning method.

Based on the Faculty of Pharmacy’s keenness to enhance the skills of its graduates and prepare them for the labor market, Dr. Omar Qammoh from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Practice presented an introductory workshop on Wednesday 11/29/2023 that focused on the basics of job interviews in the fields of community pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies, where he focused on common mistakes during job interviews.

In a student-led initiative to do good and leave a good impression on the college and its people, a group of fifth-year students at the College of Pharmacy - who are nearing the end of their journey there - organized a warm campaign to honor the working hands in the college's services department, under the message:
"The most influential people in reality are those who are able to wipe away every bad trace and make the place comfortable and safe at all times. In a humble initiative, we wanted to thank those bright hands that can make our college a place suitable for studying every day without boredom."
The dean of the college, Prof. Fadia Mayyas, praised the noble initiative of the students and their appreciation and human feelings and their good feelings towards the dedicated workers in their work. She added that this initiative is an awareness and educational initiative to instill love and respect for the working hands in the hearts of people and to highlight the great effort that cleaning workers make and their role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the university, wishing them to continue giving always. As a part of the tours made by His Excellency Professor Dr. Islam Massad to the university’s faculties and departments, the College of Pharmacy was honored on Thursday, 11/9/2023, by His Excellency’s visit. He toured the college’s facilities, viewed its infrastructure, and its research and teaching laboratories. He met the college’s administrative and teaching bodies, and praised at the College of Pharmacy, and expressed his interest and continued support for the college, as he explained during his visit the most important challenges facing the university.
During the visit, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Fadia Mayas, gave a presentation of the college’s current situation and the current and future plans that the college intends to implement to develop the teaching, research, and training axes of the pharmacy program. His Excellency was accompanied on the visit by the professors, Vice Presidents, Professor Dr. Samer Samara, Professor Dr. Musa Rababa’a, and the Dean of the College of Science, Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Nasser, who gave an explanatory presentation on the proposal of the performance evaluation committee at the level of Yarmouk University.
We thank His Excellency Professor Dr. Islam Masad for his visit and his interest in informing and communicating directly with the members of the teaching and administrative staff and his continued keenness to support and develop the college.
