The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women’s Studies, organized a community awareness and solidarity day in Jerash Camp, kindly hosted by the Women’s Programs Center in the camp.
The event featured a variety of educational and awareness activities aimed at promoting health literacy and providing guidance on diseases and medications. The initiative primarily targeted kindergarten and preparatory students at the center. Pharmacy students from Yarmouk University actively engaged with the children by sharing simple health tips, organizing light recreational games, and presenting an entertaining puppet theater show, creating a joyful and interactive atmosphere for everyone involved.
At the conclusion of the event, the Faculty distributed in-kind gifts to all students, consisting of Eid clothing and related essentials. The distribution was carried out under the supervision of members of the organizing team, Ms. Abeer Baroud, Director of the Center, Ms. Eman Al-Raqab, Health Programs Supervisor at the Center, as well as representatives from the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women’s Studies.
The awareness day was organized under the supervision of pharmacists Bayan Malkawi and Dr. Bilal Al-Jaidi, with the active participation of many members of the Faculty of Pharmacy staff, including Dr. Yazan Akkam, Dr. Mariam Al-Ameri, Dr.Aseel Rataan, Dr. Deniz Tawalbeh, Dr. Amal Bawa’neh, Dr. Haneen Amawi, Dr. Mariam Rzaiq, Dr. Amani Alawisi, pharmacists Salam Shannaq, pharmacists Samaa Abu Al-Ghanam, pharmacists Reem Abu Hashhash, pharmacists Afnan Ayyad, Ms. Sahar Ibrahim, Ms. Al-Baraa Al-Zuabi, and pharmacists Abdallah Bani Merai. The event was further enriched by the remarkable and enthusiastic participation of pharmacy students, whose efforts played a major role in the success of the day.
This initiative reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s strong belief in the importance of supporting the local community both scientifically and medically, while also fostering a spirit of social solidarity, volunteerism, and humanitarian engagement among its students.
The Faculty of Pharmacy extends its sincere appreciation to the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by Dr. Mousa Al-Zuabi, and the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women’s Studies, represented by Dr. Aseel Rata’an, for their support and active participation in this event. The Faculty looks forward to organizing more joint activities and programs across the university’s various sectors, in continued service to the local community and in strengthening the values of cooperation and solidarity.
