Yarmouk University Hosts Lecture on the Role of Clinical Pharmacists in Hospitals

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the organization of Prof. Mervat Al-Sous along with the student teams PharmaCure and Rifaq Al-Dawaa, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University hosted Dr. Iman Massad, former Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department at Jordan University Hospital, in a special lecture aimed at raising students’ awareness of the clinical pharmacist’s role in hospitals and the current state of the profession in Jordan.

Dr. Massad delivered a comprehensive presentation on clinical training and provided valuable guidance for students preparing for this stage of their education. She highlighted the various hospital departments where clinical pharmacists are active, emphasizing their critical role in reducing medical errors and their position as essential members of the healthcare team.

The lecture also introduced key scientific references and resources relied upon by clinical pharmacists in their practice, offering students a deeper understanding of the evidence-based nature of the profession.

The session was enriched with real-world examples and inspiring success stories, which sparked great enthusiasm among the students. Many expressed their excitement about their upcoming hospital training and their eagerness to apply what they learned in a practical setting.
