As part of its community engagement and commitment to its educational and awareness-raising role, a delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University—comprising several faculty members and a distinguished group of students—participated in a special health awareness and educational day held at Hafsa Bint Omar School, which is affiliated with the Bani Obaid Directorate of Education. The event took place on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

This activity included a series of targeted scientific lectures that reflected the high level of knowledge and professionalism of the participants. The lectures delivered important medical and health information in a simplified and engaging manner, specifically aimed at ninth and tenth-grade female students. Topics covered included essential aspects of students' daily lives, such as the importance of balanced healthy nutrition during adolescence, proper skincare practices, and discussions on the causes and symptoms of zinc and iron deficiency and their direct impact on overall health and energy levels. Additionally, the lectures highlighted the topic of drug interactions and their potential adverse effects, with guidance on proper medication handling and storage to maintain effectiveness and ensure safe use.

The event was not limited to lectures alone. It also featured a range of interactive competitions that saw enthusiastic participation from the students. Incentive prizes were awarded to the participants, helping to create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere that enhanced the educational and awareness goals of the activity.
