Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University Holds an Introductory Session on the National Competency Exam in Cooperation with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University, in collaboration with the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, represented by Dr. Rami Haddad and Dr. Mohammad Al-Rousan, organized an introductory session on the National Competency Exam. The session comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance the preparedness of its graduating students and raise their awareness about the importance of this national examination.

The session began with a welcoming speech from Dr. Belal Al-Jaidi, emphasizing the significance of preparing students for this exam, which is considered a key graduation requirement and a tool to assess the achievement of learning outcomes at the specialization level.

Dr. Rami Haddad stressed the importance of proper preparation to take the exam in a way that reflects the student’s true level. He clarified that the exam is not only a tool for assessment but also a genuine opportunity for graduates to demonstrate their readiness to enter the job market and represent their university in the best possible way. He added that taking the exam seriously reflects the student’s commitment to their academic and professional journey.

In the same context, Dr. Mohammad Al-Rousan explained that the National Competency Exam primarily assesses the student’s mastery of core knowledge and skills related to the pharmacy major, in addition to general and cultural skills that reflect their ability for critical thinking, logical analysis, and effective communication. He added that the exam serves as a nationally recognized indicator that helps educational institutions improve their academic programs and ensure the quality of education provided.

The session included an open discussion where students showed great engagement, raising many questions that were thoroughly answered by the speakers. As part of its commitment to supporting its students and preparing them effectively, the Faculty of Pharmacy will be organizing specialized review sessions and a mock exam simulating the actual National Competency Exam in the coming days, aiming to boost students' readiness and reinforce their confidence in their academic abilities.
