Based on the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in promoting the concepts of innovation and sustainability, and under the generous patronage of the Deanship, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized an interactive lecture on recycling plastic products and converting them into industrial fuel on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.

The lecture was delivered by Beirut Company for Industrial Fuel Generation and was organized by Prof. Omar Salem Qamoh from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, in collaboration with Dr. Maryam Rzeiq from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology.

The lecture received wide interaction from students, who were introduced in particular to pyrolysis technology, a process of thermal decomposition in the absence of oxygen, used for recycling plastic waste and tires.
