The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University participated in the launch ceremony of the pharmacovigilance guidelines and the electronic application for reporting adverse effects of medications and vaccines. The event was organized by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration in collaboration with the World Health Organization, under the patronage of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour, and attended by a distinguished group of health and academic leaders in the Kingdom.

The Faculty’s participation reflects its leading role in supporting national efforts to enhance drug safety and promote the rational and safe use of medications, as well as its commitment to fostering integration between academic institutions and health regulatory bodies.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy emphasized that this initiative represents a significant advancement in the development of the pharmacovigilance system in Jordan, as it provides modern tools to improve the efficiency of adverse event reporting and enhance the quality of pharmaceutical data. This, in turn, supports evidence-based decision-making and strengthens patient safety.

He also highlighted the Faculty’s commitment to keeping pace with the latest global practices in pharmaceutical education and integrating pharmacovigilance concepts into its academic and training programs, thereby preparing qualified pharmacists capable of making meaningful contributions to the national healthcare system.

The ceremony included presentations on the guidelines and the functionality of the electronic application, in addition to a panel discussion addressing the importance of strengthening collaboration and integration among relevant stakeholders to ensure the sustainability and continuous development of the pharmacovigilance system in the Kingdom.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national partnerships and supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of healthcare and serve the community within a comprehensive scientific and institutional framework.
