Organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, and with the participation of the health faculties at Yarmouk University (Pharmacy, Medicine, and Nursing), a free medical day was conducted in the Samou‘ / Rabiyat Al-Koura area. This initiative comes as part of the pioneering role of the Faculty of Pharmacy in serving the local community and reinforcing the concept of social responsibility.
The Faculty of Pharmacy took the lead in organizing and managing the medical day’s activities by preparing clinics, coordinating with participating entities, and supervising the delivery of healthcare services to ensure quality performance and efficient implementation.
The medical day witnessed the participation of a distinguished group of specialist physicians from colleagues in the Faculty of Medicine at Yarmouk University, where comprehensive medical services covering most specialties were provided. Additionally, doctors from the Royal Medical Services made valuable contributions. Nursing students also participated by providing various medical examinations and primary healthcare services.
As part of practical integration, Pharmacy students played a central role in managing pharmaceutical clinics, offering medication counseling, organizing the dispensing of treatments, and supervising the distribution of medicines and nutritional supplements according to scientific and professional standards. This reflects their level of training and alignment with the faculty’s mission.
The event also included a variety of free laboratory tests in collaboration with participating laboratories, along with the distribution of large quantities of medical samples and nutritional supplements donated by medical warehouses and pharmaceutical companies, which contributed to enhancing the quality of care provided.
The number of beneficiaries of this medical day exceeded 700, clearly indicating the impact and importance of this initiative.
The health faculties extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ali Al-Hmedat and the organizing committee for their efforts in coordination and organization, and for their effective role in the success of this activity.
At the conclusion of the event, Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Jabali, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. Jumana Al-Sulaiman, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, honored the sponsoring and contributing entities and presented certificates of appreciation to the participants. The health faculties also extend their sincere thanks to the Al-Hmedat Diwan for their generous sponsorship of the event and their recognition of the students and attendees.
