As part of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Yarmouk University’s efforts to enhance its community role and promote a culture of health awareness, the Sustainable Development Team organized a humanitarian visit to the Irbid Elderly Care Association on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

The visit included a variety of health and awareness activities, during which team members conducted blood pressure and blood sugar tests for the elderly, in addition to providing simple guidance on the safe use of medications, the most common diseases associated with aging, and methods of prevention.

The program also featured interactive sessions with the elderly, a recreational segment that included games and traditional proverbs, as well as a carefully prepared healthy breakfast tailored to meet the needs of seniors, and the distribution of symbolic gifts in appreciation of their value and status.

Pharmacist Reem Abu Hashhash, head of the Sustainable Development Team at the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasized that such visits aim to instill values of social responsibility among students and to strengthen human connection between generations, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.

At the conclusion of the visit, the team expressed its gratitude to the association’s management for their cooperation and warm reception, reaffirming the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to continuing the organization of such community activities.
