The Joint Health Professions Education Committee, a committee within Yarmouk University's Faculty of Pharmacy, concluded its activities for the 2024/2025 academic year with a scientific forum. This committee aims to improve cooperation and integration between students and faculty from various health disciplines and the Department of Biomedical Systems and Informatics Engineering at Al-Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology.
For the 2024/2025 academic year, the committee included: Dr. Alaa Yehya (Committee Rapporteur) from the Faculty of Pharmacy, along with Dr. Mirvat Al-Sous, Dr. Omar Qamwah, Dr. Mariam Al-Ameri, Dr. Aseel Ratean, Dr. Islam Bardawil, and Pharmacist Tamara Al-Areedah, all from the Faculty of Pharmacy. Other members included Dr. Alaa Al-Omari from the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Awad Al-Zoubi from Al-Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology, and Dr. Anas Ababneh from the Faculty of Nursing. Student members were Moawiyah Al-Khaddour (Faculty of Pharmacy), Raad Khalid Al-Salem (Faculty of Nursing), Fares Muqbel (Al-Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology), and Abdulfattah Abu Al-Heija (Faculty of Medicine).
Throughout the year, the committee organized several events focused on collaboration among faculty, students, and the local community. These included an introductory tour for committee members of the Biomedical Systems and Informatics Engineering department's laboratories. The committee also arranged activities for students, such as a visit for pharmacy students to the first aid lab at the Faculty of Medicine, and a similar activity for medical students at the pharmaceutical preparations lab at the Faculty of Pharmacy. For community service, the committee organized an awareness day in cooperation with the Al-Maqari Charitable Society in Irbid. The committee's work culminated in the Second Scientific Forum for Health Colleges, held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Islam Massad, President of Yarmouk University, on Tuesday, May 17, 2025. The forum featured scientific sessions and an interactive exhibition also took place, where students presented scientific posters they prepared as interdisciplinary teams representing the four specialties.
