In line with Yarmouk University’s mission to serve the community and promote health awareness, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, an educational lecture and an awareness workshop in a booth-based format. The event targeted tenth-grade female students and the teaching staff of Bushra Comprehensive Mixed Secondary School, with the aim of spreading health and pharmaceutical awareness and reinforcing concepts related to the safe use of medicines and nutritional supplements.

The event included an awareness lecture addressing the importance of vitamins in supporting human health, explaining their natural sources and their role in maintaining health balance and preventing a number of health problems. It also shed light on painkillers in terms of their types, indications for use, and the guidelines associated with taking them, while emphasizing the risks of irrational and random use and the negative health consequences that may result.

The event also featured an interactive workshop organized through a booth system, during which the scientific material was presented in a practical and interactive manner. This allowed the students to move between booths and benefit from direct explanations and guidance provided at each station, which contributed to reinforcing health and pharmaceutical information in a simplified and practical way and enhanced the level of engagement and benefit.

The activity was supervised by Dr. Mariam Al-Ameri, Dr. Mariam Ruzaiq, Dr. Haneen Amawi, Dr. Amal Albawanna, Dr. Aseel Rataan, Dr. Islam Bardaweel, pharmacist Reem Abu Hasheish, and Ms. Wafaa Al-Awad. This reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to employing its academic and professional expertise in serving the local community and contributing to raising the level of health awareness among students.

This event comes within the context of the Faculty of Pharmacy’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with educational institutions and to enhance its enlightening role through quality initiatives targeting different segments of society, in line with the university’s vision of building a society that is more aware and knowledgeable about health and pharmaceutical issues.

The event witnessed notable interaction from the students and teaching staff, who expressed their appreciation for the importance of the topics presented and for the distinguished interactive approach of the lecture and workshop.
