On Thursday, October 23, 2025, the faculty members of Pharmacy organized the first Pharmacy Orientation Day at the university’s Model School, targeting tenth-grade students to introduce them to the science of pharmacy and its diverse fields.
The event was initiated by faculty members Prof. Alaa Al-Jabali, Dr. Aseel Rataan, Dr. Haneen Amawi, Dr. Ghaith Al-Taani, pharmacist Lorca Al-Zubi, pharmacist Yasmine Al-Hamzat, and pharmacist Alaa Al-Qudah, with the participation of pharmacy graduate Baraah Al-Refai and distinguished students Salma Eideri and Dania Anaqrah. Computer lab technician Hala Ali also provided technical and digital support for the event.
The activities included an introductory lecture that highlighted the main branches of pharmacy and the diverse career paths available to pharmacists in hospitals, pharmaceutical industries, and academia. Participating students shared their study experiences and discussed key challenges and opportunities encountered by pharmacy students during their academic and professional journeys.
The event also featured simple and interactive scientific experiments conducted in front of the students to introduce them to basic chemical and pharmaceutical concepts in an engaging and enjoyable way. The day concluded with a scientific quiz competition among tenth-grade students, aimed at enhancing scientific understanding and fostering a spirit of interaction and positive competition.
