On Thursday, July 24, 2025, the PURE Sustainable Development Team at the Faculty of Pharmacy – Yarmouk University organized an awareness event entitled "For a Better Health", which also marked the team’s official launch. PURE was established in response to the university's directives to involve students in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Fadia Mayyas, Vice President for Development, Scientific Research, and Quality, representing the University President. It was also attended by Dr. Wasfi Al-Nawafleh, Vice President of the Jordan Pharmacists Association, Prof. Ghaith Al-Taani, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, along with a number of faculty and administrative members, students, and interested attendees.

She emphasized that volunteerism and field engagement are natural extensions of academic and research work.
Prof. Mayyas also commended the development teams across various faculties for their role in shaping students' personalities and enhancing their readiness for the labor market.
Prof. Gheith Al-Taani, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, also delivered a speech in which he applauded the PURE initiative, praising its integration of education with community engagement and its contribution to nurturing students' humanitarian values.
Dr. Wasfi Al-Nawafleh, Vice President of the Jordan Pharmacists Association and guest of honor, spoke about the vital role of pharmacists in promoting community health. He described the PURE initiative as a model worth emulating and announced the full support of the association for such impactful activities.
