A New Achievement for the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Research Team at the Cell and Tissue Culture Laboratory, Supervised by Dr. Ali Hmedat. 

Farah Al-Zoubi, a member of the research team under the supervision of Dr. Ali Hmedat, secured first place at Yarmouk University in the “Thesis in Five Minutes (5MT)” competition. Her project was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Ali Hamidat to investigate the effect of the antidepressant Sertraline on head and neck cancer cells. The competition took place as part of the Scientific Day organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies.

The 5MT competition is designed to enhance graduate students’ science communication and presentation skills by challenging them to summarize their research work in a clear and engaging manner within just five minutes.

Additionally, the research team from the Cell and Tissue Culture Laboratory participated in the event by presenting two scientific posters that showcased the outcomes of two research projects focused on innovative therapeutic strategies for head and neck cancer.
