Vision

FITACS seeks to be recognized for its ability to graduate information technology professionals who aim for serving the community and leverage the Jordanian workforce with IT knowledge and skills needed for sustainable development. It views its graduates as being in a leading position to bridge the gap between the university and the Jordanian community. Building its competency upon qualified faculty and staff, the faculty seeks to be one of the national outlets for research and community service.

 

 

Mission

The Faculty’s mission is to integrate three main dimensions that are vital to the educational area: teaching and learning excellence combined with prestigious and rigorous research for serving the Jordanian community. Our mission is to provide the community with competent and relevant graduates at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. With a changing discipline, our graduates should fill the gap between the ICT sector and community needs. Also, research in the ICT sector is a crucial factor in supporting economy, especially in an IT adaptive society. Thus, through teaching and research we serve our local and regional community by utilizing the maximum return of financial and human resources. The Faculty encourages and facilitates communication between faculty members, students, and management. An important objective of the IT faculty is to bridge the gap between the ICT sector needs and the academic human output. One of the aspects in this regard is the practical portion of the curriculum where the need is towards more of practical courses or practical aspects in the majority of courses.

Goals

1. Provide Innovative academic programs in the fields of information technology

2. contribute to research and discover new knowledge in various fields of computing technology

3. Providing various technology expertise, sources, and services to the local community

4. Provide faculty members with up-to-date methods and tools in education and research by providing educational development opportunities and active participation in external project grants.

5. Establishment of degree programs according to local and regional needs

6. Improving the educational process in accordance with emergent scientific and technological tools and methods

7. Adopting novel research projects and entrepreneur ideas in various technology fields
