Student Sustainability Team - Fall 2024/2025
The Sustainable Development Team at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Yarmouk University, was formed in response to the university administration’s directives to activate the role of students in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3:“Good Health and Well-being.”
The team operates under the supervision of the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Pharmacy and is coordinated by Pharmacist Reem Abu Hashhash. It includes a selected group of students from the faculty who have demonstrated a strong passion for community health and volunteer work.
♦Team Vision:
To actively contribute to supporting health and educational initiatives that enhance quality of life and promote health awareness within the local community.
♦Team Activities and Achievements:
1.Participation in the National Campaign for Early Detection of Breast Cancer – held in the Al-Mukhaybeh / Al-Hemma Al-Urduniya area, organized by the National Center for Women's Health Care in collaboration with the Arab Medical Relief Society. The team contributed through awareness and field support.
2.Participation in a Free Medical Day at Gaza Camp – Jerash, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy in cooperation with physicians from the Faculty of Medicine. The team provided logistical and educational support and helped examine and treat over 600 patients.
These activities embody the university’s mission of community service and reinforce the culture of volunteerism and humanitarianism among students.
