The department of pharmaceutical sciences has 10 academic staff ( 6 PhD and 4 MSc) and 13 laboratory technicians ( BSc, MSc in pharmacy and chemistry). There are 8 modern equipped teaching laboratories. The department offers obligatory courses that can be divided into three categories; chemistry category; which includes pharmaceutical organic chemistry, pharmaceutical analytical chemistry, clinical biochemistry, pharmacognosy and phytochemistry, medicinal chemistry, and advanced drug design, Pharmaceutics category ; which include: physical pharmacy, dispensing and compounding, pharmaceutical technology, instrumental analysis, cosmetics, drug delivery and advance pharmaceutical technology. Third category includes; pharmaceutical statistics, research methodology, pharmaceutical microbiology, immunology and pharmaceutical biotechnology. The department also offers 12 elective courses.
